Pmh Developing a pilot wave turbine
The PMH project is an integral part of the MLiner project which, in one floating structure, combines four MRE technologies - wind, solar, tidal and wave - to generate electricity.
PMH, which is concerned with validating the wave energy system, involves testing a wave turbine in real conditions, where the unit is fitted on two separate platforms (a buoy and a boat) and correlated with a numerical model, coupled with tests on a quarter-scale model in laboratory conditions.
Developing the wave turbine system will involve testing the technologies on pilots in evolving conditions resembling real operating conditions. The project will then develop numerical simulation and modelling of how the system behaves. Lastly, it will establish the correlations between the behaviour of the pilot units using numerical modelling and will couple this with testing on models.
The PMH project is officially recognised by the Pôle Mer Bretagne and Pôle EMC2.
