ACCREDITATION BY PÔLE MER BRETAGNE ATLANTIQUE
Accreditation is one of the tasks PMBA performs on behalf of the French state, in accordance with Article 24, Section I (2) of the Finance Act for 2005. This is both a collegiate process helping to improve the project and one involving selection to guarantee a certain quality level.

The PMBA Management Board is the only entity authorised to accredit projects. The Board comprises 26 elected representatives from the maritime sector, who are grouped into four constituent ‘colleges’: large companies, SMEs, academic institutions and professional bodies. The true value of PMBA lies in the variety and expertise among its Board members.
Accreditation ensures that projects:
- Enjoy tailored support from the Engineering and Management Team as they move from start-up to becoming established and approaching sources of finance. They receive advice, connections and constructive critism .
- Gain recognition within the maritime sector because they fit in with industry strategy and public policy regionally, nationally and within Europe.
- Optimise their success in obtaining finance, because accreditation is seen by public sector funding bodies as a mark of quality. It indicates maturity, credibility and commitment.
85
%
of projects that are accredited by PMBA go on to secure public funding.
