Pôle Mer Méditerranée: a shared vision
An original organisation
Since they were first created in 2005, the two maritime Pôles have always sought to combine their strengths and create synergies. With this aim in mind, the two organisations’ operations and governance are organised in a way that ensures the maritime ecosystem is united on all major ocean-related topics, especially decarbonisation, national autonomy and protecting our oceans.
The Interregional Steering and Coordination Committee liaises between the two Pôles, and is made up of executive staff from both bodies. This Committee ensures consistency between the projects accredited by the two Pôles, checks that none are redundant, and that they complement each other wherever possible. The Committee coordinates all the joint action taken by the two Pôles.
A dynamic place for people and projects
By its very nature, the sea is a shared environment. Maritime themes naturally invite innovative, collaborative projects: this is the best way to guarantee cutting-edge economic development that transcends traditional sector boundaries. The two Pôles have proved this by accrediting more than 1,000 projects since 2005, with a total investment of 2.5 billion euros.
