PAM-ASV Passive Acoustic Monitoring – Autonomous Surface Vehicle
The PAM-ASV project aims to develop an innovative system for the automatic detection of cetaceans in real time using passive acoustics.
This will be made up of buoys and/or drones acting as a network to locate cetaceans with precision.
PAM-ASV is intended for deployment close to noisy activities being undertaken at sea. This solution will alert operators to the presence of cetaceans. The precise information it supplies will help these operators comply with the applicable regulations.
Areas of application include marine renewable energy, marine engineering works and defence.
