PROJECT SUMMARY
The project aims to increase competitiveness and resilience of local fisheries ecosystems and value chains in the Atlantic Area by reinforcing local actors' collaboration and innovation capacities. Knowledge exchange among stakeholders in different territories supported by technological centres and clusters will stimulate the creation of new economic activities and transitioning towards smart, circular and more efficient business models and innovative solutions in the local fisheries ecosystems.
FISHINN proposes an integrated territorial approach in 4 fisheries’ ecosystems based on a common methodology to:
DIAGNOSE and exchange challenges, and opportunities ensuring stakeholders collaboration through LOCAL INNOVATION FORUMS.
Identify and study existing INNOVATION-BASED SOLUTIONS in Europe to address these challenges.
Develop INNOVATION ROADMAPS and increase stakeholders’ innovation capacities.
- Provide other Atlantic Local Fisheries with innovation-based solutions to support their transformation.
CLUSTER'S ROLE
The cluster is overseeing the elaboration and adoption of Atlantic fisheries ecosystem innovation roadmap. It participates in the characterisation of fishing ecosystems and is also involved in mapping opportunities in fishing ports and fishing ecosystems.
