S.CO.RE Tank testing platform for floating wind turbines

The S.CO.RE project involves developing tank testing equipment to enable national and international wind turbine project leaders to test, optimise and qualify the technologies they have developed.

In the context of designing floating platforms for offshore oil and gas projects, tank testing is a proven means of reducing risks by improving understanding of how systems respond to excitation by the ocean swell.

Drawing on this approach, the object of the S.CO.RE programme will be to develop a methodology and model for scaled-down testing of the power regulation systems of high-power offshore turbines as part of floating wind turbine projects.
