OCEANICS Smart control system to develop autonomous ships

OCEANiCS is a breakthrough solution designed to optimise vessels and maritime operations and make them autonomous and safer. This onboard system

allows smart control and conning of ships. It will optimise the ship’s energy consumption through innovative routing based on advanced navigation software (collision detection, advanced perception, etc.) and unify the management of foils, sails and propellers.

The system is also designed to help with decisions about critical operations, predictive maintenance and artificial intelligence.

OCEANiCS will also harness major potential to optimise fleet management. This project forms a technological foundation stone in the development of autonomous shipping.

OCEANiCS will overcome some of the major technological issues with the EVA2 project which has already been approved by Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique.
