KATSURF-2 Innovative, high-speed, semi-submersible remotely controlled vehicle
The Katsurf-2 project involves developing a high-speed submersible vehicle that can maintain speeds of over 20 knots for 2 hours and is fully remotely operated.
The technological breakthroughs required principally relate to modelling and then controlling the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic balancing of a submersible vehicle moving at high speed close to the free surface.
The system is intended for naval and civilian applications.
