PROJECT SUMMARY

BlueBioTechpreneurs will organise diverse training, upskilling, and mentoring activities to boost the growth and quality of careers in the blue bioeconomy across Europe.

Specifically, BlueBioTechpreneurs will:

  1. Create a MOOC, Massive Open Online Course that will promote competencies, knowledge, skills and attitudes to foster careers in the sustainable blue transition.

  2. Organise WEBINAR SERIES with inspirational entrepreneurs and mentors who will share their experiences and career journeys with a large and varied audience.

  3. Organise three 3-day HACKATHONS in different regions (Atlantic, Nordic, Baltic) and featuring direct interaction between actual start-ups/companies, masters and PhD students, and recent graduates, who will be challenged to propose innovative and creative solutions addressing blue biotech industry needs from a circular and sustainable perspective.

  4. Inviting project alumni-ae (including students, companies, and mentors) to the BlueBioClusters project Community Platform.

ObjectiVEs

BlueBioTechpreneurs addresses EMFAF-2023-Blue Careers’ goal to:

  1. Boost collaboration between academia and the private sector,

  2. Encourage students, young graduates, and professionals to embrace blue careers,

  3. Support companies in accessing cross-sectoral talent, fostering innovation and closing the skills gap in the blue biotech sector.

Specifically, BlueBioTechpreneurs will create a learning and leadership programme around the blue biotech sector, uncovering its wide range of applications in different subsectors of the blue bioeconomy. By promoting interest in the blue biotech sector, BlueBioTechpreneurs will match stakeholders already in the industry with those looking for information and inspiration about careers in the blue bioeconomy and students who need transversal knowledge and skills to understand how to exploit the increasing opportunities in this sector. Women empowerment will be fostered through ad-hoc activities, including webinars with women entrepreneurs who will serve as role models for girls and young women to be inspired to pursue similar careers.

CLUSTER'S ROLE

The cluster is overseeing the implementation of a webinar program (WP3) and will take part in others project’s activities such as Hackathons and MOOC.
