An accomplished Animal scientist and PhD candidate in Aquaculture Nutrition at the Agricultural University of Athens, Christina Zantioti is the President and Co-Founder and Co-Founder of NOWA- Network of Women in Aquaculture.
Network of Women in Aquaculture (NOWA) is a social entrepreneurship initiative dedicated to promoting gender equality and inclusivity across the global aquaculture industry. Through mentoring programs, training courses, and networking opportunities, NOWA is committed to transforming the aquaculture industry and ensuring that women’s contributions are recognized and valued.
Frederico Mauritty
BSc Student Nursing School of Lisbon, Co-founder of HidroQapa
Frederico Mauritty is a bachelors student at the nursing school of Lisbon. He is also the co-founder of the project HidroQapa and the winner of the European Comission’s 2024 Youth Start-up Competition.
HidroQapa produces waterproof bioplastic films from shrimp shells, creating solutions for the textile industry while adding value to waste. The promise of the project’s biodegradable chitosan-based solution has been recognized with national, European, and international-level awards.
