The SPHYRNA project aims to develop a surface drone with a hull design based on Polynesian pirogues, combining lightness and hydrodynamic performance.

Optimal energy efficiency allied with a high level of autonomy will be achieved by equipping the drone with a hybrid propulsion system featuring rigid sails to meet demands for speed, operational stability and electricity generation via a hydrodynamic generator.

Offering significant reductions in the cost of sea operations (surveillance, scientific research, etc.), the drone will also be containerised for ease of deployment.
