The AGITER project aims to develop a new suite of tools for the small-volume cultivation of microalgae. These will eliminate any heterogeneity in the microalgae using a type of LED lighting designed for use in shaking equipment.

This setup will then be available for use in all sorts of animal and vegetable cell cultivation, as well as other areas such as materials and polymer chemistry.

The tools will also be flexible: it will be possible to adjust the colour and intensity of the lighting and the volume cultivated.
