The SIMPLE project is set to develop a service to supply ocean weather data in real time based on numerical simulations of unprecedented quality (MRE, offshore oil and gas, maritime activities, etc.) Updated in real time, the service will fully cater for the needs of operators at sea.

To achieve this, SIMPLE is combining the use of (old and new) radar satellite data, high-resolution numerical modelling of the atmosphere and sea state (waves).

Atmosphere modelling will be calibrated by radar images (SAR) with the help of an innovative spatial calibration algorithm.

Sea-state modelling will be combined with a pioneering learning-based calibration method that synthesises satellite data, in-situ data and a numerical model.
